Noma Sushi and Grill in Stockton

Just like me, Stockton, California, USA seems to be enamored to Japanese cuisine if only the sheer number of Japanese restaurants in the city were an indication.

The first Japanese restaurant that I dined at since I arrived in America was Noma Sushi and Grill.

Noma Sushi and Grill is located at Weberstown Mall at the corner of March Lane and Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California, USA. Business address is indicated as 4590 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California, USA (Telephone number: 209 472 7152). Their other branch is at 1240 Sunset Boulevard #100, Rocklin, California, USA (Telephone number 916 435 1600).

One of the best ways to enjoy Japanese food is to order bento boxes as it comes with 3 or more Japanese dishes in one order. And so that's what we did. We ordered them combination lunch boxes. We had a choice of 3 items for each box which already comes with a cup of rice (It's an Asian thing) , vegetable salad, and miso soup (traditionally Japanese). I ordered California rolls, tonkatsu, and mixed tempura. The tonkatsu was too hard, tempura was good, and so were the rolls.

My brother had gyoza (they call them pot stickers here), his favorite chicken teriyaki, and mixed tempura as well. The chicken teriyaki was really good and the pot stickers were quite good as well.

Our tab came out at less than 30 USD and it was a good meal. I should say that ain't bad a price for a good Japanese meal. If their tonkatsu were a lot more tender, I'd be raving about them.
